Cambridge Sustainable Food CIC
We believe in the power of food for change. Our aim is to work for a different, fairer and more sustainable and resilient food system in Cambridge that enables people to have a say in the decisions that affect them and future generations.
We are part of the Sustainable Food Places programme run by SUSTAIN and the Soil Association and are the lead organisation for the Cambridge Sustainable Food Partnership in the city.
We work to:
- Promote health and sustainable food to the public
- Tackle food insecurity, diet-related ill health and access to affordable, healthy food
- Build community food knowledge, skills, resources and projects
- Promote a vibrant and diverse sustainable food economy
- Transform catering and food procurement
- Reduce waste and the ecological footprint of the food system
We work with communities, businesses, organisations and local authorities to enable change across the city towards healthy and sustainable food for all.
We facilitate the Cambridge Food Poverty Alliance, which aims to work together strategically and collaboratively to alleviate food poverty in the city. CSF CIC coordinated the emergency food response in the city during the pandemic and supported the establishment of 8 Community Food Hubs, in partnership with the Alliance. We continue to support food distribution across the city and advocate for food justice for all.

Sustainable Catering Service
CSF Kitchen offers a sustainable catering service. Our small and passionate catering team is dedicated to creating and producing delicious mezze lunch boxes, cold buffets and cakes for any kind of event you're hosting.
We primarily use surplus food that is otherwise destined for compost or landfill. As a community interest company all of our profits go back into supporting food justice, community food projects and the environment.
